Woman charged after break-ins in Mannville and rural Vermilion
RCMP have charged a woman following a string of break-ins at rural residences in and around Mannville, Alta., earlier this month.
On June 7, police responded to a break and enter in progress in the County of Vermilion River. An alarm system with remote surveillance had alerted the homeowner, who called 911. Officers arrived to find the suspect had already fled, but security footage helped identify a suspect.
Just days later, on June 11, police responded to two additional break-ins at the same home in Mannville. Investigators determined the same person was responsible.
Keisha Sharp, 28, of Mannville, has been charged with three counts of break and enter to a dwelling, two counts of mischief under $5,000, and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order. She was released on conditions following a hearing before a justice of the peace and is due in court in Vermilion on July 7.
Sgt. Corey Buckingham thanked the public for their trust and cooperation, noting that calls from residents and access to private security systems led to the arrest.
