Crowsnest Pass woman among four charged after recovery of stolen vehicles

A truck stolen from Coleman, a car and licence plate stolen from Coalhurst, and a licence plate stolen from Nanton were recovered Oct. 20 by members of the Southern Alberta District RCMP Crime Reduction Unit and Coaldale RCMP. A black generator, also believed to be stolen, and a number of jerry cans were recovered as well.

The investigation also resulted in the seizure of weapons, methamphetamine, cannabis and fentanyl.

The 29-year-old Coleman woman is charged with two counts of possession of stolen property and a 24-year-old man is charged with two counts of possession of stolen property, failing to comply with a release order, possession of a prohibited weapon and failure to comply with a prohibited-weapon order. 

Both are scheduled to appear Dec. 1 in Lethbridge provincial court.

Another 24-year-old man was arrested on six outstanding warrants along with new charges of possession of stolen property and failure to comply with release order. He was remanded in custody after a judicial hearing and will appear in Lethbridge provincial court Oct. 27.

The fourth individual, a 29-year-old man from Lethbridge, is charged with two counts of possession of stolen property, two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, and operation of a motor vehicle while prohibited. He was released from custody following a judicial hearing and will appear Dec. 1 in Lethbridge provincial court.

As all persons are presumed innocent until convicted in court, Shootin’ the Breeze includes names of the accused only when there is a specific need for the public to know.

The Crime Reduction Unit extends thanks to rural residents who allowed unit members to conduct surveillance from their properties.

Stolen property has been recovered after Crowsnest Pass RCMP executed a search warrant Feb. 27 on a Coleman residence.

Among the numerous weapons seized are a prohibited homemade Taser, a sharpened sword and several baseball bats with metal fastened to the barrels.

Several arrest warrants were also executed.

Charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 is 26-year-old Dallas Adam Caron of Pincher Creek. He was remanded into custody after a judicial hearing and will appear at Provincial Court in Pincher Creek today.

Forty-five-year-old Angel Hutton of Coleman is charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, four counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and possession of a controlled substance.

After a judicial hearing she was released on a $2,500 Promise to Pay Release Order and is scheduled to appear at Provincial Court in Pincher Creek on March 16.
