The Progressive Conservative Party of Alberta has been officially relaunched, with support from sitting MLAs Peter Guthrie and Scott Sinclair.

The party says it intends to offer an alternative political option for Albertans and to re-establish what it describes as values rooted in peace, order and good governance. In a release issued July 5, the PC Party said it is focused on accountability, steady leadership and practical solutions to provincial issues.

“Leadership means showing up, doing the work, and being accountable to the people you serve. That’s the historical foundation of this party and it’s what Albertans deserve,” said Guthrie, who represents Airdrie-Cochrane.

The party’s message, as presented by its leadership, emphasizes what it calls a return to respectful public service and a focus on healthcare, education, the economy and management of public resources.

“We hear it every day: people feel politically homeless,” said Sinclair, MLA for Lesser Slave Lake. “We’re here to offer a real conservative choice that is grounded, steady, and focused on getting things done.”

The relaunched party says it is inviting Albertans who support its stated principles of fiscal responsibility, social reliability and collaborative leadership to join.
