Stolen vehicles, parole violations in Parkland RCMP sweep
Parkland RCMP, with support from the Central Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit, arrested multiple individuals during a warrant round-up on July 10 targeting prolific offenders in the region.
Parkland County residents Jayden Rose Stebbings, 19, and Ryan Allan Wiggins, 40, were taken into custody on outstanding warrants for possession of stolen property over $5,000.
Both remain in custody and are scheduled to appear in Alberta Court of Justice in Edmonton on July 11 and July 14, respectively.
While attempting to arrest a third suspect, officers spotted a stolen vehicle driving past. With support from Edmonton Police Service’s Air 1 and Alberta RCMP Police Dog Services, police followed the vehicle, leading to a brief foot chase and two more arrests.
Cody Marcel Young, 33, of Spruce Grove, who had been released on parole on July 2, was arrested and charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000 (motor vehicle) and possession of stolen property under $5,000.
Because he was violating parole, Young was returned to a correctional facility.
The vehicle’s driver, a young offender who cannot be named, faces multiple charges including:
- Impaired operation of a motor vehicle
- Possession of stolen property over $5,000 (motor vehicle)
- Possession of stolen property under $5,000
- Driving without a licence
- Driving without insurance
- Failing to comply with a sentence order (x5)
- Fraudulent concealment of a licence plate
- Possession of break-and-enter tools
RCMP thank the public for their assistance with the operation.
