Truda was born on Aug. 4, 1948, in Leavitt, Alta.
She is survived by her son Russ (Lisa) Louey; her grandsons Lance Brooks, James (Laura) Brooks and Kaden Louey; and her great-granddaughters Ellianna and Layla Brooks. She is also survived by stepson Daryl (Cathy) Louey; grandchildren Chad, Brenna, Kayleigh and Jenaye; and great-grandsons Milo, Madden, Maverick and Myles. Also, Truda is survived by her sisters Gail (Fred) Plettl, Myriam Wiebe, Cindy Haslam and Dixie (Gord) Brewster, and by her brother Lee Haslam.
Truda enjoyed spending time with her family and friends — whether it was travelling to Arizona in the winters or to the coast of Terrace, B.C., during the hot summers to catch salmon. Truda was a social butterfly and touched many lives during her time on this earth, and will continue to be missed and cherished by many.
Those we love do not go away
They walk beside us every day
Unseen, unheard, but always near
So loved, so missed, so very dear
Truda’s celebration of life will be announced later when arrangements by the family have been made.
On behalf of the family, we would like to send our greatest appreciation and utmost thanks to the staff at Chinook Regional Hospital ICU for making Truda comfortable and peaceful during her passing.
