Obituary for Rosalie Levesque

By Eden’s Funeral Home
August 18, 2021
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife and mother, Rosalie, on Aug. 6, 2021, at the Pincher Creek Health Centre.

She was born in St. Vincent’s Hospital in Pincher Creek, the youngest of 10 children, to William and Eva Bruder (née Ullian). She attended Marr School until Grade 6, then continued at Kermaria Convent, where she received her musical education.

She married Emil Levesque in 1954 and they enjoyed life and laughs together every day for the next 67 years.

She spent her life in service to family and church, working as the parish secretary and pipe organist (self-taught!) for nearly 50 years, retiring reluctantly at age 82.

She enjoyed knitting and needlepoint and was well known for her delicious huckleberry pies. She loved spending time at their cabin in Beaver Mines and hosted many memorable pig roasts and barbecues. But most of all, she loved to pick berries and shared her jam with many.

She is survived by her loving husband, Emil; daughter Laura Miller (Jack); sister Agatha McRae; and numerous nieces and nephews.

We would like to thank Dr. Daniel Ruttle and all the staff at Pincher Creek Health Centre, Home Care and Whispering Winds for their kindness and compassionate care.

A memorial mass was held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 13, 2021, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Pincher Creek, with Rev. Myles Gaffney officiating.

Memorial donations may be made to Windy Slopes Health Foundation, PO Box 2554, Pincher Creek, AB, T0K 1W0.

Condolences may be sent through www.edensfuneralhome.com.
