Patricia was born in Claresholm, Alta., on April 8, 1938, to William and Nora Stewart (née Hope). She worked as a telephone operator for Alberta Government Telephones until she married Spike (William) Cyr in 1959. For the next 60 years they farmed and ranched in Pincher Creek.
Besides her great love for her family and working alongside her husband on their ranch, she had an avid love of reading, tending to her flowers and following current events in the news. She loved people and always had a compassionate ear for those in need.
She was predeceased by both of her parents, her sister Elizabeth Cyr, her brother Donald Stewart and her granddaughter Catherine Heppner.
She is survived by her loving husband, Spike; son Darren (Yvonne) Cyr and their children Alieza and Christopher; daughter Tracy Cyr and her children Jonathan (Chiharu) Heppner and Cat (Brianna) Cyr. She is also survived by her sister Norma Stewart; sisters-in-law June Stewart, Vera Leik and Dorothy Campbell; great-grandchildren Drake and Hannah Heppner; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Our family would like to thank Dr. Gavin Parker, Dr. Tracy Burton, the home care nurses and the nursing staff at the Pincher Creek Health Centre for all of their excellent care and kindness.
To respect her wishes, Patricia will be cremated and interred in the Fairview Cemetery in Pincher Creek, at a later date when her family can gather and say goodbye.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Canadian Cancer Society (200-325 Manning Road N.E., Calgary, AB, T2E 2P5) in memory of Patricia.
