It is with great sadness the family of Margaret Kropinak announces her passing, at the Pincher Creek Health Centre on Dec. 29, 2020, at the age of 87.

Margaret is survived by her grandchildren, Shane Shafranski and Angel Shafranski, both of Lethbridge, and a sister, Shirley Svoboda of Vancouver. She is also survived by a family friend, Kevin Crabbe, as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Maurice; daughters Sharon and Gloria; son Edward; daughter-in-law April. Also, her sisters Jean Webb, Betty Prince, Doreen DeSmit and Dorothy Webster, and brother James Scott.

Margaret was born In Summerview in 1933. She married Maurice Kropinak on July 24, 1955, and they farmed at Tod Creek. When they sold the farm, they moved to Pincher Creek and bought and ran the Macleod’s Store.

They then moved to Fort Macleod and bought the Rest A While Motel. They moved to Lethbridge and bought an apartment building. They ran that until they retired in 1980.

In 1991, Margaret returned to Pincher Creek, where she remained until her passing.

The family would like to thank Linda at Home Care, Lethbridge Family Services, and doctors, nurses and staff at Pincher Creek Health Centre.

A private family service was held. A video recording of the service will be available at
