He will be fondly remembered by his son, Tom (Kim); his grandson, Marty (Alice); his sister Annie Hoffman; his brother-in-law John Tendler; as well as many other dear relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, Annie and Xavier, and by his siblings Alfred Desbiens, Scotty Desbiens and Helen Tendler.
He was a flight lieutenant in the Second World War, stationed in Europe. He loved to camp with family and enjoyed the great outdoors. He was a good carpenter and built many houses in the town of Pincher Creek.
As per his wishes, there will be no funeral service. His family will hold a private family interment at Fairview Cemetery in Pincher Creek at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pincher Creek Humane Society (PO Box 2647, Pincher Creek, AB, T0K 1W0) or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada (110-1525 Carling Ave., Ottawa, ON, K1Z 8R9) in memory of Joe.
