Obituary for Ian Blachford

It is with great sadness that the family of Ian Blachford announce his passing on Nov. 21, 2021. He passed away at the Vista Village in Pincher Creek, Alta.

Ian was a longtime resident of Pincher Creek. He worked with Plains Western Gas and Electric Company in Pincher Creek and several locations across Alberta. He was a volunteer fireman across Alberta for the last 42-plus years.

Ian was born in Colonsay, Sask., on Jan. 20, 1932. He met his wife, Barbara (Harrison), in Hardisty while working with the Highways Department. They married on May 7, 1955, and were married for 65 years.

Ian is survived by his three sons, Reg (Lynette), Robert (Peggy) and Rodney (Lisa); along with his grandchildren, Megan (Christopher), Mathew, Brandon, Katherine, John, Ian and Jacob; and great-grandchildren Gabriel, Emerson, Royce and Brody.

Ian is survived by his family: Laurie (Irene), Cameron (Dongyan), Bruce (Marlene) and Patricia (Keith).

He was predeceased by his parents, and sisters Berne and Joan.
