On the evening of Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021, Donna Patricia Lepp, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away at home peacefully at the age of 77.
Donna was born on Nov. 25, 1943, in Lethbridge to Donald (Don) and Alexena (Ena) Rossiter. On Nov. 7, 1964, Donna married David (Dave) Lepp and together they raised their son, Troy, and their daughter, Gena.
After leaving Dave’s family farm in Skiff, Alta., in 1971, Dave, Donna and their children settled in Lethbridge until 1976, when the family made the move to Pincher Creek. There Donna could engage in her love of horses and the outdoors and spent many hours on horseback enjoying the mountains.
Donna worked at CIBC in Pincher Creek for many years through the ’70s and ’80s, and there met many great residents of the area. In the early ’80s, Donna, and later Dave, Troy and Gena, started working at Westcastle Mountain (now called Castle Mountain Resort). Donna would spend the next 35 winters helping out at Castle Mountain, both in the ticket office and also for a few years as restaurant manager.
Donna was preceded in death by her son, Troy; her mother, Ena; her father, Don; and many other family members. She is survived by her elder sister Bernice White (Jim); loving husband of 56 years Dave; devoted daughter Gena Salzmann; son-in-law Clayton Salzmann; granddaughters Felicia Salzmann and Rachel Piercey (Dylan); and precious great-grandson Elias Piercey.
A memorial service will be held at a later date, once gathering restrictions have been reduced and we can all celebrate Donna’s life together.
Donations may be made in Donna’s name to the ALS Society of Alberta, 7874 10th St. N.E., Calgary, AB, T2E 8W1.
