In the early morning of Saturday, April 3, 2021, David Alvin Lepp, loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, went to be with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, at the age of 79, after a short stay in the Pincher Creek Health Centre.
In the early morning of Saturday, April 3, 2021, David Alvin Lepp, loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, went to be with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, at the age of 79, after a short stay in the Pincher Creek Health Centre.

Dave was born on Aug. 9, 1941, in Coaldale, Alta., to Aaron Lepp and Annie Kroeker. On Nov. 7, 1964, Dave married his high school sweetheart, Donna Rossiter, and together they raised their son, Troy (born 1968), and their daughter, Gena (born 1970).

After leaving the family farm in Skiff, Alta., in 1971, Dave, Donna and their children settled in Lethbridge until 1977, when the family made the move to Pincher Creek. There Dave built a large shop on their mountain property between the Gladstone Valley and Beaver Mines.

Dave spent many years painting cars, fixing anything mechanical, doing dirt work with his Caterpillar, sandblasting and milling lumber, among many other activities. Dave also worked at Westcastle Resort in the early ’80s and for the MD of Pincher Creek driving gravel truck.

Dave was preceded in death three months ago by his wife of 56 years, Donna; also his son, Troy; brothers Arnold and John; and many other family members.

Dave is survived by his devoted daughter, Gena; son-in-law Clayton Salzmann; granddaughters Felicia Salzmann and Rachel Piercey (Dylan); and precious great-grandson Elias Piercey.

The family’s gratitude goes out to the wonderful staff of the Pincher Creek Health Centre and to all the friends and neighbours who visited Dave and offered their support over the past two weeks.

A memorial service will be held at a later date, once travel and gathering restrictions have been lifted and we can all celebrate Dave’s life together. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dave’s name to the Canadian Cancer Society at www.cancer.ca/donate.
