Travis Noble and Chris LeBlanc of Team Fortis watch closely as the blue stone is determined to be closest to button and secures a crucial point for the end. The biter measuring device was called into action during a nailbiter of a match between Fortis and Jadco at the Town and Country Bonspiel, held Feb. 3 to 8 at the Pincher Creek Curling Club.  The biter works by placing a fixed point in the pin — a small hole at the centre of the button — while a moveable dial extends to measure the edge of one stone. The arm is then rotated around the house to compare dial readings with other stones, ensuring an accurate call in tight situations like this one.
