Keevyn Marston, 20, of Innisfail faces robbery and theft charges after three Red Deer gas stations were robbed within 22 minutes on Oct. 3.

Red Deer RCMP received the first 911 call at 4:53 p.m. from a gas station employee in the Deer Park neighbourhood, according to an RCMP news release. A man walked behind the cash register, grabbed paper money and left.

Five minutes later, another gas station in the Eastview area reported a similar robbery. In both cases, the suspect took money without speaking and no violence occurred.

At 5:15 p.m., a third gas station employee in the Parkvale neighbourhood called 911 to report a robbery and assault. This time, the employee tried to block the suspect’s exit. The suspect pushed and fought with the employee before fleeing.

Police released surveillance photos to the public and quickly received a tip identifying the suspect. Officers arrested Marston at his residence without incident.

Marston has been charged with one count of robbery and two counts of theft under $5,000. He was released with conditions and appears in Alberta Court of Justice in Red Deer on Oct. 24.
