Location: Kootenai Brown Pioneer Village in Pincher Creek, Alberta

Term: Seasonal, full-time (mid-June to the end of August, 2021)

Hours: Five days per week, full time up to 40 hours per week (some evening and weekend work required)

The Pincher Creek & District Historical Society is seeking suitable individuals to be museum assistants for the Kootenai Brown Pioneer Village and Visitor Information Centre. 

Museum assistants will be responsible for a wide range of duties including but not limited to: visitor information, gift shop management, grounds and building maintenance, exhibit display, collections management, special events, conducting tours and educational program involvement.

We want to hear from you if you are a friendly, enthusiastic and self-motivated individual who can work well on a team. 

You do not have to have a vast knowledge of the area’s history—but you have to be willing to learn it. 

If you are a people-orientated person, happy with a new variety of tasks and challenges daily, then we encourage you to apply.


  • Currently a student and will be a returning student in the fall in high school or post secondary
  • Education or experience in a related field (museum studies, tourism studies, etc.) is an asset but not required
  • A high level of written and verbal skills
  • Competency in computer skills
  • Willingness to work and learn new tasks

IMPORTANT NOTE: This position is dependent on grant funding from Young Canada Works and/or Canada Summer Jobs and applicants must fit the criteria of these grants. To be eligible, individuals must be current students and returning full-time students.
