As of yesterday, 44,994 doses of Covid-19 vaccine have been administered in Alberta.
Seven adverse events following immunizations have been reported to Alberta Health and Alberta Health Services.
Alberta remains under mandatory public health restrictions until at least Jan. 21, 2021. See links for details of specific restrictions below.

South Zone Specifics
Saturday, Jan. 9 – 5,262 total cases
Data updated Sunday, Jan. 10
25 new cases were reported in today’s update
695 people were tested for a positivity rate of about three per cent.
There are 297 active cases, a decrease of 3 from the previous day.
28 recoveries brings the total to 4,901, for a zone recovery rate of about 93 per cent.
16 people are hospitalized with four admitted to intensive care.
Note: zone of current hospitalization and current ICU admission are based on location of hospitalization, not zone of patient residence. For example, a Pincher Creek resident hospitalized in Calgary would be categorized as an active case in the Pincher Creek region but hospitalization statistic would show in the Calgary zone.
64 residents have died and Covid-19 has a mortality rate of about 1.2 per cent for the zone.
There are six outbreak sites across the south, which are detailed in the community breakdown below. Outbreaks are normally updated by Alberta Health Tuesdays and Fridays, and declared over when four weeks have passed with no new cases. This means not all outbreaks have current transmission or active cases.
School statistics have not been updated over the holidays and Alberta Health has advised they will next be reported tomorrow.
