Charges laid in death of Tregan
The Alberta Major Crimes Unit has charged an adult male in relation to the homicide of Tregan "Piikani" Crow Eagle, whose remains were located on Piikani Nation in July.

The 16-year-old youth was last seen at a Brocket residence in the early morning hours of July 22, 2020.

Remains located July 27 were confirmed to be those of Tregan Crow Eagle. Initial investigation showed the death to be suspicious and an autopsy deemed it to be homicide.

A 37-year-old male of the Piikani Nation has been charged with second-degree murder and causing an indignity to human remains.

After a judicial hearing, the accused has been remanded to appear in Lethbridge Provincial Court on Oct. 27, 2020.
