Case of Covid-19 confirmed at St. Michael's School
Update: May 1, 2021

Holy Spirit Catholic School Division advised May 1 that a second case of Covid-19 has been confirmed at St. Michael's School in Pincher Creek.

All close contacts have been informed and are required to quarantine while following the directives provided by Alberta Health Services.

Out of respect for those impacted and in accordance with AHS guidelines, further details about members of the community who may test positive for COVID-19 will not be disclosed.


There are 13 active cases in the division at this time, requiring the quarantine of about 300 staff and students.

This includes two cases at Father Leonard Van Tighem School in Lethbridge, six at Our Lady of the Assumption School in Lethbridge, two at St. Francis Junior High School in Lethbridge, one at St. Joseph School in Coaldale and two at St. Michael's School in Pincher Creek.

As of today, April 28, 2021, the division is directly impacted by nine active cases (two at Father Leonard Van Tighem (Lethbridge), six at Our Lady of the Assumption School (Lethbridge), and one at St. Michael's School (Pincher Creek), requiring the quarantine of roughly 220 staff and students. 

The school division continues to work closely with Alberta Health Services to ensure the health and safety of its students and staff.
