2012 Hunting Regulations available for fall hunting season
The 2012 Alberta Guide to Hunting Regulations is now available for hunters preparing for the 2012 fall hunting season.
The guide provides all the information hunters need regarding rules and regulations for hunting in Alberta.
They are available online at www.mywildalberta.com and from licence issuers and Fish and Wildlife district offices. Recreational licences, both general and special, can be purchased online at www.albertarelm.com.
Following the 2012 hunting season, the Alberta government will conduct a Game Harvest Survey online.
Hunters are encouraged to update their profile at www.albertarelm.com with a valid email address to participate in the survey, and stay informed on key hunting-related information.
Hunter harvest data is gathered and used by wildlife biologists to monitor big game populations and assist in setting hunting allocations, licence quotas, hunting season dates and in the development of hunting regulations.
All first-time resident hunters are required to successfully complete the Alberta Conservation and Hunter Education Course prior to hunting. Information about course enrolment can be found at www.aheia.com.
More information on provincial game species, access to land, hunting events and links to hunter education in Alberta can be found at www.mywildalberta.com.
