Covid-19 recoveries a highlight of long weekend

Tuesday, 04 August 2020.

Alberta’s south zone left off Friday with 147 active cases of the coronavirus and dropped 25 per cent to 110 on Tuesday, even with the addition of 23 new cases.

Since Friday, there has been one new case of Covid-19 confirmed in the Pincher Creek region, while there were four recoveries. This brings the tally to seven active and 16 recovered cases and the “watch” status for the region has been lifted accordingly.

Both people diagnosed with Covid-19 in Crowsnest Pass have recovered and no new cases have been confirmed.

Hooray for the City of Brooks — after dealing with 1,123 cases of Covid-19, they have zero active in today's report!

Pincher Creek doctors put community first, extend date to withdraw hospital services
Physicians of Pincher Creek’s Associate Clinic are putting the best interests of their community first and pushing the date of withdrawing hospital privileges 90 days down the road.

“We would hope that the minister and AHS officials would be reaching out to us to begin a new chapter of co-operation. It may look like you got someone to blink and cave with your actions, but, the truth of the matter is, our local doctors should be applauded for helping to avert an unmitigated disaster in health care in our community,” says Mayor Don Anderberg.
