Pincher Creek area under fire restriction
Officials implemented fire restrictions Sept. 26 for the Town of Pincher Creek, Village of Cowley, Piikani Nation and Municipal District of Pincher Creek, including Beaver Mines, Twin Butte and Lundbreck.
Warm, dry conditions over the past couple of weeks have increased wildfire risk. Forecasters predict above-seasonal temperatures with little precipitation. Officials urge caution with fire and off-highway vehicles.
The restrictions will remain in effect until conditions change.
Fire pit permits remain active and officials continue issuing them. Debris burn permits will no longer be issued and current permits are suspended.
