Circular shot of Shannon Peace – smiling woman with shoulder-length light brown hair and glasses, wearing a black shirt, over a purple accent line with text details about her Shootin' the Breeze role
Shannon grew up in the business and has long understood the value a community newspaper has in rural areas.

She was strongly influenced by the work of her parents, Heather and Oren Robison, who set a positive example in news coverage with integrity, supporting local businesses and being active in their community.

Shootin’ the Breeze grew from a small idea of building relations between Pincher Creek and Crowsnest Pass after Shannon moved to southwestern Alberta.

Wearing the publisher’s hat, Shannon has earned numerous awards of excellence from the Alberta Weekly Newspapers Association. This includes recognition for editorial, feature, health and news writing, photography, special feature creation, ad design and overall excellence.

When not working, she enjoys living at the end of a dirt road with husband Jim and a menagerie of critters. Their little piece of heaven on the Castle River is a place of joy, peace, love and music.
