School buses are back on the road and drivers are reminded to be vigilant behind the wheel.

Driving this message home is a collision Tuesday, Sept. 26, between a pickup truck and a school bus in the Beaverlodge area of northern Alberta.

Fifteen students were on the bus and, by EMS assessment, there were no major injuries.

The truck driver and passenger were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the truck attempted to pass another vehicle and collided with the school bus.

Alberta RCMP reminds the public of the importance of respecting signage and traffic safety laws, as well as always being aware of school buses on the road. Road safety is everyone’s responsibility.
