Shootin' the Breeze is a weekly print and online community paper covering the southwestern corner of Alberta as well as a full-service print shop.
Owners Shannon and Dennis Robin have created a business which is 100% locally owned, locally staffed and locally produced. They are proud to have their efforts recognized with the Small Business Award of Excellence by the Pincher Creek & District Chamber of Commerce in 2013, in only their second year of business.
Shootin’ the Breeze is a neighbourly bit of good news distributed through southwestern Alberta every Wednesday. Positive stories and community events are what the publication is all about.
2,000 print copies are distributed each week, articles are posted individually online, and an interactive edition of the paper can be found on this website every week.
As publisher, Shannon is responsible for the content and design of the paper along with designing the advertising and commercial printing products.
Cary Robison provides editing and accounting expertise and is in charge of the operations of the commercial print shop.
Brenda Shenton provides administrative support in the office on a part-time basis. She also dons the reporter/photographer hat at a moment's notice and keeps everyone organized.
Stan and Lily Skahl of Pincher Creek deliver papers to over 170 locations each week. Sunshine, rain, 100 km winds or snow, they are the bearers of good news.
Brad Quarin is a writer and photographer, and we're happy to have him on board. He can be found out and about in Crowsnest Pass and Pincher Creek and writes the majority of the articles in the weekly paper.
Jessica Jensen looks after sales of advertising and commercial printing. Give her a call to learn about current specials and regular advertising.
Jaiden Panchyshyn assists with photography and design along with website and social media posts.
Special thanks to Kari for getting papers out to Twin Butte during winter months.
Regular contributors include Jody Best, Joyce McFarland, John Kinnear and Crestview Lodge. We are always open to community submissions!
Darren Dugan of farmer teds technicals inc. is the man behind the website, and we’re thrilled with how it is coming along. The website is still a work in progress and is growing in popularity every week.
Shootin' the Breeze was incorporated in June 2011, in Pincher Creek. The first edition was published Sept. 14, 2011.
The office is located at 697A Main Street in Pincher Creek and is open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday.
